Since I wasn't looking forward to LOTR, my most anticipated release list hasn't changed since LOTR's release. They are:

Star Wars Episode II
Back to the Future Trilogy
Monsters Inc.
Beauty and the Beast
E. T.
Spiderman
Austin Powers Goldmember
Men in Black II
Jason X

LOTR was not one that I was looking forward to. Having just watched it for the first time, I am glad that I own it. However, IMO it still ranks below the movies on the above list...

I am another person who was NOT anticipating the LOTR release, because I hated the film. Now, my most anticipated DVD of the year is the upcoming uncut AB DVD of the horror classic, SOCIETY. That is my most anticipated, but some others that I am also highly anticipating are:

WB's Charlie Chaplin Special Editions!

I'm expecting to buy all of them, unless their edition of City Lights lacks the PCM score.

I'm also hoping Paramount will release Wings next year, Fox will release Sunrise, and perhaps WB will release some of their MGM silents.
