I currently have a Pioneer Elite SC-05 receiver and love it. Actually I should say loved it. A week ago qwe had some storms come through our area and the power went off and on several times within a couple of hours. Yesterday was the first time I had a chance to go downstairs and watch a movie since the storms. Surprise!! The receiver would not power up. I had an error message and the manual says I have a serious problem and it needs to be serviced by a Pioneer service dealer. I'm guessing the amp got fried and who knows what else. I'm taking it in Monday to find out what the diagnosis is. My main fear I guess is that it will cost as much to fix as what I paid for it. So, just in case it does, I'm looking at a replacement. If I need to replace the SC-05, my plan is to go with the newer version, the SC-35. Does anyone have this receiver, and if so what are your thoughts on it. Thanks!!

The SC-35 surely packs a lot of receiver into this unit, that's for sure. One thing I would recommend is to purchase a good power conditioner/surge protector! This is insurance - speaking of insurance......have you called your home inusance provider?
