The analysts seem pretty hip on the idea of $199 price points. However, at least for me, the enticing speculation is $39 games. When DC games were $39, that turned a lot of "maybe purchase" games into "gimmegimmegimme" games.

Yeah, the $199 price point is definitely coming; people have been expecting it for months ever since Sony announced they were releasing a broadband enabled PS2. Cutting their price to $199 is a no-brainer; they'll be matching Nintendo with the budget-concious consumers, and they'll cut the Xbox off at the knees in markets like Japan and Europe.

As for the $39 games, lower prices are always good. But I haven't paid more than $35 for any of my new games...thanks to Half.com.
