    Hi.

I have a new Sony SAT-A65. It is working well, except that the new caller id function works only intermitantly. In talking with Sony Tech support, they suggest that the Dish itself might not be properly grounded. I have grounded both the Dish and the grounding block to the same cold water pipe. So, two questions:

    1. Does this make any sense to anyone.

    2. How do you tell if your Dish is "properly" grounded?

Or, does anyone have any ideas as to why the caller id functionality is only intermitant?

    Thanks for the help.

    Jack

The better ground would be an 8 foot copper grounding rod buried vertically in the ground (earth). Also put your OTA antenna and Sat. ground together on the same ground.
