    Hi all,
not sure if this a problem or not, but I just recently purchased an
Athena 10" Subwoofer AS-P4000 from F.S. It sounds great! Even better than my 3 month old Velo VX-10.
The possible problem.......during setup, my son turned up the Athena's Volume control to 10, just a second before I plugged the Phono Plug from Receiver in to the Sub (A/C power was connected) [IMG]
Of course their was a huge "pop" followed by an even bigger thump from the sub's Speaker. I'm worried that this may have somehow or somewhat damaged the Sub. It plays OK, but it sure was no way to "Break-in" the Sub!

I was just wondering if anyone had any thoughts on this?

    Thanks and regards,

If it still works, then there probably isn't any damage to worry about.

John's correct. It is probably fine. BUT---always turn off the AC/power to any components before connecting/disconnecting cables/wires.
