Are these things out yet???
If they are how do I get my hands on them??
This was discussed a bit ago here.
TV had mentioned work on a plug kit, and perhaps a grill upgrade for those of us with the older screw-down grill. Cool stuff. I've been patiently waiting--I know those guys are busy.
Thank you for the post and link to the earlier Thread Andy..
SVS dudes, any updates to the status of the port plugs for us older Ultra folks??
We'll get the port plug order info up in just a few days now. When you see the link you will see another reason we've been so busy. BTW, for you CS-Ultra early adopters the plug will be free of charge. We'll even ship it out on our nickle.
The grill upgrade will take just a bit longer, and while it won't be free it'll be very low cost. Won't hardly be worth while for old CS/PC customers but for anyone with a mind to pop the grill for the port plug now and again it'll do wonders for your sanity (the old grill damping screws were a PITA to put back in).
Thanks for your patience, soon we'll make it up to you with a free plug.
So the foam plugs are free and the new end-caps will cost us (a little bit of change), correct???
Sounds fine to me, I guess I'll wait to install the plugs after I get the new end caps, so I can switch back and forth quickly and easily to see which one I prefer.
Hopefully the ETA on the new end caps is soon.
Not new end-caps, a new grill system. Big difference.
It just will make removing and replacing the grill a 15 second operation instead of a 15 minute operation.
Watch our News page for release of the port plugs for you Ultra customers of long ago.
"New grill system"....
Cool.. I can hardly wait.. Hopefully that will come sooner rather than later..
Since there seems to be a high degree of interest in this (and rightly so), has anyone at least tried it with a "DIY plug"? Does it seem inordinately difficult?
What effect does using aport plug have on the sub?
Thanks SVS guys, I ordered my Plug this afternoon on the new Website.
Any ETA on the new top for us older Ultra folks??
don't know if anybody has said anything yet but the new site looks wonderful. much better than the previous site.
Raife, using a port plug lowers the tuning frequency of the Sub, so it can reach lower notes before it starts to roll-off the lows.
