Port plugs and x-over frequency... (1 Viewer)

I have Paradigm Studio 20's, CC as my mains and Titans/cc-170 for the rear (20-39pci for sub). I wanted to get port plugs for my speakers because I do not want much bass from speakers (other than the sub) below the x-over frequency. With an 80hz x-over, would the port plugs even have an impact? Since freq's below 80 are passed to the sub (with a small bit making it through to each speaker) would port plugs help in any way? I was hoping that it might eliminate some bass, making it easier to EQ room response.
Thoughts?

You will lose a little efficiency, first off. Second, you are correct that with a x-over of about 80Hz, the plugs will not help a whole lot. There is a very easy way to find out...stick a sock in the port :D

Didn't know about loosing efficiency. Since my amp is only 85wpc, and my x-over is 80hz, I think I will just do without. Thanks for the information :)
