I have been listening lately to the newest Porcupine Tree(PT) "In Absentia" cd. I read somewhere that this effort is a concept album concerning a serial killer. What do you think?

Also the track 'Heart Attack in a Layby' has me baffled. Firstly, what is a layby? Is this like a rest stop on the freeway? Does the character really have a heart attack? At the end of the song he talks about getting back to his girl and growing old together. The tracks on this cd have very deep meanings and maybe I just can't get deep enough in my own mind. Please help me understand, thanks.

    BTW, I love this cd!!!

Yep, it is a great cd...one of the best in 2002.

You can get many of your PT questions answered at their website http://www.porcupinetree.com/news.htm in the forum section.

BTW, my favorite song is "Gravity Eyelids". I also saw PT in concert twice this past year. They sound great live.
