I know that many here enjoyed In Absentia, which is the previous Porcupine Tree release (especially the 5.1 version by DTS). Their new one is called Deadwing, and it was recently released in Europe. I believe the US release is April 26. Those that ordered from Amazon.co.uk are getting it now here in the US, with the added benefit of counting towards their album charts.

How is it? I'm not usually one for hyperbole, but Deadwing is friggen brilliant: dynamic transitions, killer riffs, beautiful melodies, swirling vocal harmonies, and generally ambitious modern music that defies categorization. I would encourage anyone who likes progressive, alternative, metal, electronica, or just good song writing to check this out. Best of all, a 5.1 mix is due out later this year as well!

No, I'm not affiliated with them in any way... just a big fan that wants to spread that word. Rumor has it that "Shallow" is getting radio play on some new/alternative stations in the USA.

It's getting play on XM's Squizz as well.

Unfortunatly, it isn't getting played on XM Music Lab...
