Popping noise through sub (1 Viewer)

I have been trying to diagnose this problem but to no avail. With my amp(Fidek 3002) to full gain and the receiver calibrated to the right level I get small popping through the sub when a DVD switches between menus or recycles a sound clip at the opening. I have been able to quiet down the pops by turning the gain on the amp to 50% and recalibrating my receiver. Any idea what could cause these problems as I would like to run my amp at full gain but the popping is too annoying.

if it's doing it between menu options it might be the receiver switching between digital and pro logic.
I know it does this because I have a cheap kenwood receiver and have to listen to the relay every time it switches

I have an Onkyo DS676 and it isn't switching between Digital and DPL as the display changes when it does it.
