just curious as to what progressive scan dvd player everyone out there owns?
    1) what brand/model?
    2) pros
    3) cons
    4) do you wish you would have purchased a different brand/model? if so why?

Still sticking with the Toshiba sd5109. I know that in the ever evolving player market, this one seems a dinosaur, but it is still a good player. Just finding another progressive player around here is a challenge, so it's hard to do any kind of comparisons in my home. Otherwise, I've been thinking about upgrading to a newer model, something with higher grade circuitry and components.

I also have the Toshiba 5109. I am pretty happy with it, but I bought it nearly two years ago and paid just under $600 for it! You can get progressive scan players for less than half that price now! [IMG]
Although I thought having two trays was something that really wasn't needed, having it is nice. Just this weekend I watched Dances With Wolves (DTS) and Lawrence of Arabia, both of which have the movie spread over two disc. It was nice to just hit the "switch disc" button on the remote to go to the second disc.
I won't be upgrading any time soon, I am happy with the Toshiba!

I own the JVC XV60SL Prog. scan player. It has all the goodies that I need:
    1. Progressive Scan
    2. Scaling feature for progressive output of non-anamorphic and 1.33:1 DVDs.
    3. No chroma bug

I have the Pioneer Elite DV-37. I have had it close to 8 months now. I really love it. It looks great on my Pioneer SD-532-HD5. I guess it has the chroma bug, but I like not being enough of a videophile to notice it! It's a great looking box with that urushi finish too!

    Another 5109 connected to a 1-1/2 year old TW56x81.
Man! I can't believe how much the prices have dropped in a year, but I still love the picture I get with the toshiba combo.
I'll wait a while for an upgrade.
