eddieZEN- Leaving it on during the day, and then turning it off at night is a sensible compromise. 
But I don't even do that. Turn it on when I need it, and if I know I won't be listening to a CD or watching a movie for a while (more than an hour?), I'll still turn everything off. Most times, no more than two on/offs in a day.
