Girlfriend in a coma I know, I know it's serious - "Girlfriend In A Coma" - The Smiths

Nope, it's rhythmically admired
I stand corrected. Unbelievable that I've gone 25 years thinking she was t'rifficly admired.

I saw the Bus Boys as well in downtown Detroit. My friends and I were the only caucasians there. One of the best concerts I've been to.

"And the men who hold high places..."

"Hurry the bottle, mama, it's grapefruit wine"

"Oh, let the sun beat down upon my face, stars to fill my dream"

Too tough to choose one. My favorite bands of all time.

Show me, show me, show me how you do that trick,
The one that makes me scream," she said.
"The one that makes me laugh," she said.
And threw her arms around my neck.

When I think back on all the crap I learned in high school, it's a wonder I can think at all (Kodachrome - Paul Simon)

There's a destination a little up the road,
from the habitations and the towns we know,
A place we saw the lights turn low,
jig-saw jazz and the get-fresh flow
(Where It's At - Beck)

In the wee small hours of the morning... (In the Wee Small Hours of the Morning - Frank Sinatra)

Brain-storming, habit-forming battle-warning weary winsome actor spewing spineless chilling lines (Only Solitaire - Jethro Tull)

I've always thought Joy Division's opening line on Disorder was a good one:
"I've been waiting for a guide to come and take me by the hand."

Well, it's four lines, but few others in this thread have limited themselves, so...

They're selling postcards of the hanging
They're painting the passports brown
The beauty parlor is filled with sailors
The circus is in town

After the first line of "Thunder Road", thes is my favorite opening stanza, ever.

I'm pulling the pavement from under my nails
I brush past a garden, dependent on whales
The sloping companion I cast down the ash
Yanked on my tunic and dangled my stash
- Phish "Stash"

Come stumble my mirth beaten worker
I'm Jezmund the family berzerker
I'm bought for the price of a flagon of rice
The wind buffs the cabin
You speak of your life
Or more willingly Locust the Lurker
- Phish "Chalk Dust Torture"

Your time is near, the mission's clear
It's later than we think
Before you slip into the night
You'll want something to drink
Steal away before the dawn, and
Bring us back good news
But if you've tread in primal soup
Please wipe it from your shoes
- Phish "Cavern"

I'll use the opening line in my current sig, which has been on my mind alot lately.
[c]

"I caught sight of my reflection. I caught it in the window. I saw the darkness in my heart.
I saw the signs of my undoing. They had been there from the start."

[/c]
Peter Gabriel's Blood of Eden.
I'm probably every bit as big a Gabriel fan as Vickie is a Kate Bush fan. I like Kate as well and have almost all her albums.

King Crimson's "The Great Deceiver":

Health-food faggot with a bartered bride
Likes to comb his hair with a dipper ride

Pink Floyd's "Dogs"

You gotta be crazy, you gotta have a real need
You gotta sleep on your toes, and when you're on the street
You gotta be able to pick out the easy meat with your eyes closed
