    On a $200ish budget for a decent subwoofer for a 20' x 10' room, of which 10' x 10' is the HT.

the velodyne CHT10 is on sale for $230 shipped at www.onecall.com.

there is an opened box psw303 at CC which comes out to about $220 w/ tax.

    99% movies. suggestions?

It's tough to make a good recommendation for a "$200ish" budget. At this price point you have to use the term "decent" very loosely. I've never owned anything this inexpensive so I guess I can't be of any help here. No, wait. I did have a Acoustic Research S108PS 8" 120w powered sub a few years ago and it performed more like a 10 incher. It really suprised me, especially considering I paid a little over $100 for it on the web. It's now pulling duty with one of my girlfriend's daughters. You can find the 12" model of this AR range within your budget on the web - got a 4.09 out of 5 with 117 reviews at AudioReview.com.
