Polk LSI9 vs Paradigm Monitor 5 (1 Viewer)

First off, is this a valid comparion? Are they both in the same league?

Has anyone listed to these two speakers side by side? Any thoughts before I spend way too much money?

No, definitley not a valid comparison. The LSi9s are way out of the 5s league, and are definitely the better speaker. No need to compare side by side. I've owned 5s and also LSi7s, and the 7s will also give the 5s a run for their money. For a nearer comparison, you would be looking at Paradigm's Studio 40s, but going by MSRP, I'd be mroe likely to get the LSis (and I am a Paradigm fan).

Thanks for the input John. I feel better about my LSI9 selection. They may cost a bit more than the Paradigm Monitor 5's but its good to hear that they are better sounding as well.
