I make it a point not to go down there on Fat Tuesday or during the Greek Picnic (there really isn't that much on South Street anymore except some bars, sex shops and a mix of crap and overpriced restaurants).

Many the ton of horse manure I have shoveled, in my days riding horses and then at vet school.

The average "on-the-street" pile is actually not too bad if it hasn't been trampled; it's basically just processed vegetable matter. A better name for it is "road apples".

It's the crap in the stalls that's a real stinker: all mixed in with straw or shavings, trampled, and mixed liberally with gallons of horse piss. Not bad beer, I mean real horse piss.

all the while dropping huge horse bombs in the parking lot

Imagine what it was like before cars, when everyone was traveling via horse or other animal.
But at least it's better than the carbon monoxide from a cruiser that just idly sits there all day.

I've seen them here in Toronto...
Once, on Carlton & Jarvis, I saw a cop on horseback give a traffic ticket... It was funny seeing the cop and driver reach for each other. I took a picture, but I don't have a scanner.
