There’s a long running thread at the forums for MakeMKV with people submitting what the correct playlists are for each disc - try searching there, it may have come up for that title.

Yes, it's a pain. Flicker Alley has used it on their recent Laurel and Hardy silent Blu-ray sets but only single titles appear in MakeMKV with the correct runtimes. You can use a resource like DVD Compare to confirm those times to determine which titles to select. If your BD is old enough to be in their database.
If you can match up runtimes, it's not the same thing. Playlist obfuscation is designed to fool you with hundreds of playlists all with identical running times, but each playlist has a segment map with the segments in a slightly different order. Of course your Blu-ray player knows exactly which playlist to use, but the only way you can figure it out with MakeMKV is by trying each one. Fortunately people on the MakeMKV forums have done the tedious work and a simple search can usually find the answer as to which is the correct playlist file. For example, on this movie the correct source file name is 00392.mpls

Yeah, it didn't take me long to find the answers I was looking for, but it did take me by surprise as this was the first time I had encountered it in all my years of ripping.

I think you're right. I haven't experienced it much and when I have, MakeMKV generated single titles per runtime. Not hundreds. Guess I've been lucky so far.

Install Java on your computer. MakeMKV can then run and interpret the discs java-based menu system and figure out the actual main title.

I don’t know how long this has been available. I learned about it only recently. But it’s a game changer.

I've recently noticed MKV's in my collection seem to have a problem with presenting timely subtitles in Plex. If I watch the same titles on disc, they're fine. When I watch them on Plex, they're way off, [usually delayed a full 30 seconds or more] compared to the actual video.

Wondering if anyone else has experienced this and [hopefully] what can be done to fix it.

I have not personally experienced that issue.

Had the subtitles previously worked properly, and then stopped working?

If you haven’t, the easiest first steps are probably to make sure the Plex software on your computer and the Plex app on your streaming box are up to date.

When playing back, you might also want to check subtitle settings to see if you might have inadvertently turned on the subtitle delay feature.

Thanks!

I didn't intentionally enable delayed subtitles but I'll take a closer look at what is enabled. Maybe it was an aberrant default setting?
