And there came a dark time, the Demon Murdoch's plan to overthrow the blessings of Lord Whedon are about to come to fruition. And Our Lord Whedon did calleth to his faithful, to watch the third Earthy incarnation of his perfection on the 25th night of October. Doing so will drive back the darkness and bring forth the light

Bottom Line: Tonight is a make or break for Firefly. It even is a prequel episode to the series, so you don't need to have watched before. Please, especially if you're on a cable system (they unofficially track cable boxes like nielsens) give Firefly a shot. Even if you don't watch, just tune your box to your Fox station, and Help us Save Our Show
Oh, and for those who don't believe that the World Series has helped in it's potential untimely death

IS this what it's come to? You begging people to watch just because Joss Whedon is behind this show?
"Even if you don't watch, just tune your box to your Fox station, and Help us Save Our Show"
Oh my God that is low. [IMG]
I doubt they keep track of cable boxes, most people leave them on even if they turn off the TV I think, so wouldn't the numbers would be completely inaccurate?

No, I'm asking this because it's a good show. Another Fox sci-fi series in danger of premature death before it has a chance to blossom

Isn't this the fourth episode, not the third one?

I didn't like the "Jaynestown" episode, but I liked the one before that.

Well, I'm going to watch tonight because I like the show. Indeed 've never seen any of Wheldon's previous shows.

Watch Firefly tonight, especially if you're part of the Nielsen ratings family. [IMG]
I'm gonna watch it until it gets canned.

What I don't understand is why Fox doesn't simply add ean extra hour to its prime time schedule, like the other networks. Then they wouldn't have had a problem placing this show. They have only 2/3 as much prime time programming as other networks have. They could for example have put it on Wednesday night after WB's "Birds of Prey" and after their own "Fastlane".

I think the local affiliates enjoy being able to air news at 10 pm and get an hour jump on their competitors for the "early-bird" news slot.

I've missed the last couple of Firefly episodes just out of sheer forgetfulness. I'll give myself a reminder to tune in tonight.
The show hasn't clicked for me yet but I don't want to see it go.

That wouldn't be a problem here, the local Fox affiliate doesn't have any news. [IMG]

Me too. I missed the last 3 and had to find them online instead.

I'm tuning in tonight seeing as how "Jaynestown" was a great episode.

I really hope Firefly doesn't get the Axe... I thought it might, but I at least hope it gets a full season. I'd love a 1st season set at least if it gets cancelled.

So if Fox does (gasp) axe it, can another network pick it up? Huh? Can it? Yeah? I will be watching it as always. Loved it, hate to see it go.

One sci fi show I liked without Star Trek in its name that Fox also got rid of (but thankfully after a season) was Space: Above and Beyond. While cheesy and lo-fi, I really enjoyed it. Some good standout episodes.

    Go Firefly Go!

I've seen every one aired so far... and I have yet to
figure out why it was avertised with "a crew that includes
    a girl in a box.".....

    Eh?

I would really like an episode that is the story
of how these folks got togther on the ship. Especially, the
doc and his wigged out sister.

Did Fox like, mix the episodes up? Or pre-empt a premiere
    episode?

Anyway, maybe it will be a slow reveal series...if it
    survives.

Stargate, being based on both books and big screen film, hasa bigger built in draw than a show built from scratch.
I do think the Sci-fi/western mix in Firefly may be leaving some casual viewers scratching their heads.
