Since you asked for WWII Occupied Europe books, I can think of two - sort of - that might fit the bill, although I don't know that I would necessarily call them epics.
MILA 18 by Leon Uris is about Allied-occupied Berlin right after the end of the war. It's been quite a while since I read it, but most of his books are pretty good (try Battle Cry or Exodus)
The Expendable Spy by (I think) Jack Hunter (not sure) is more of a spy novel, about an American dropped into Germany right at the end of the war who gets involved in all sorts of shenanigans.
