Hello all! I have a Sony 40XBR700 and have noticed a lot of color separation on my set. There seems to be a red shadow to the left of objects, especially text. Also, when viewing a DVD in 16:9 there is a considerable bow at the top of the picture and a bow in the opposite direction at the bottom. Not experienced enough to do it myself, or a big enough videofile to pay for it, I called Sony to have it worked on under warranty. The guy will be in my house between 8-12 TODAY.

Did I make the right decision? Is there anything I should have him do while he's working on it? Maybe someday I will have it tuned professionally, but if I can get Sony to do stuff for free, please let me know.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated!!

Greetings

Chances of him fixing this in home are slim to none. Most of the large flat tube designs behave like this. Seems to be a limitation of the current technology.
