I am a few weeks away from buying a receiver for my Paradigm Studio 40's; room size: 10 X 14 X 7. It's beween the NAD and the Rotel. Any recommendations? Can't decide. Thanks in advance.
I agree with Jeff, these two receivers are definitely solid and if you are looking for great sound from your CD's then the NAD is the way to go. I don't think you will go wrong with either. Like Jeff said, if you can audition them both do so, it's your EARS not ours that count.
I prefer the Rotel's sound with my Martin Logans. Many people have mated this receiver with Paradigm with great results. Suggest you check out Club Rotel's web site for such opinions. BTW, IMO the NAD is very ugly and does not match much of any other equipment due to their odd color choice. Your opinon may differ.
NAD had a problem with audio drop outs from digital sources in some of their older models. But the current models do not have this problem and most of the owners I know are very happy with their NAD components. I'm giving serious consideration to the T163 processor for my own system.
Had not heard about surrounds going out. The audio dropout was a problem on older models, I had a T762 for months that I traded in for a T763. Dropout issue has been resolved. Never had a surround channel go out on me though.
I can say I absolutely love the sound. Let your ears do the buying, though. Good luck!
