I've been on the computer most of the day today and still haven't come to any real decision on which player I should get. I'll read a good review and then I'll read a bad review on the same product.

Some of the products I'm thinking of is the Panasonic RP91N, Denons DVD-1600, and various models by Toshiba. Looking to spend no more than $1,000. Looking to get the most picture and sound quality that will buy me. Would like the player to be compatible with VCD/CD-R/CD-RW. No chroma bug is also desired, and of course progressive scan...

If you are going to spend around 1K then I would go with the Denon 3800. If you want to stay below that then the RP-91 is a great player, so is the Denon 1600. I would not get a Toshiba since those players have the chroma bug.
