Hi all,

I was at Sam's Club today and the wife and I have been talking about getting rid of our Hitachi SWX20B 57" RPTV and replacing it with an LCD we can hang on the wall.

They are having a special, no interest for 18mos. I have narrowed it down to two choices:

52" Sony Bravia for 2478.78 Model No. KDL-52WL130

OR

52" Sharp Aquos for 1998.57 Model No LC-52D62U

Any opinions or insights?

BTW I need to buy it tonight to get the offer. It ends tomorrow but I am working. I have approx 45 mins to decide if I am going to get one and which one it will be.

Thanks!

After significant research I bought the Sony KDL-52XBR4 (rated "best LCD on the planet"). I would recommend you compare features against the Sony "W" models (720P vs 1080P, 60 Mhz versus 12, etc.). I have seen them already priced $400 less than what I paid for it on Dec 27th 2007.

I purchased from retailer in NY - no sales tax but shipping was about the same ($275).

The Sony "W" models are 1080p, but not 120hz. In the Sony model lineup V, W, and XBR sets are all 1080p, except in the 32" size which are all 720 thought the 32" XBR is 120hz. M and S series sets are 720.

I have an opportunity to see differents LCD side by side like Sony W3000, XBR4, Sharp D64, Samsung 71 and Toshiba LX177 . After week and week , search and seark, look and look , i finally take the Toshiba for features-PQ vs price. I like must the picture of LX177 than XBR4 , with the 120hz , the motion on LX177 is smoother and you have so many possibility to set the color.

Very happy with my choose. Take a look of this model LX177.
Good luck
