    All I'm trying to do is compress my videos into a flash file so I can upload them to the web and not kill my bandwith. THe files range from 20-120mbs and where captured on my Samsung Digital DVD Camcorder. How can I tell what codec they are in, because half the programs I try can't open the darned things!

    Anyone else have the same problem and solve it? Let me know!

    I tried that, and it didn't tell me much of anything, just wich codecs on system it was using.

    I tried a few others, and the only thing weird looking one showed me was Bit Rate Mode : CBR. Does that mean anytihng?

    CBR = constant bitrate

    On the right-top side in the Video box, it should say the codec that was used...

    EDIT: I guess this is mainly for AVI video files, if it's an MPG then I don't know what to tell you
