Please explain geometry

    as it relates to tv rptv to be specific...as I understand geometry it relates to angles and such..now on a tv I dont think you want angles...what are some common geometry errors on TVs?? how are they fixed meaning what service menu controls are used generally?? I realize that most service menus are specific to brand but the general names of items should be similar...

    geometry when talking about TVs is the picture being displayed. If a circle is displayed is it truly a perfect circle or does it look like and ellipse or some other funky shape? If a series of equal boxes are displayed is every box perfectly square across the entire screen?

    Lots of times with RPTVs the outer edges might be bowed or other affects. All of this can be fixed of course and sometimes minor geometry problems can't even be seen without test patterns.
