Hi,

I'd like to get a nice HT setup in my bedroom but I have limited knowladge on this so I thought I'd ask the pro's...

I have around 2k to spend. I've thought about the Pioneer 811 Reciever, is this a good choice?

I'd want around a 40-50" HDTV 16:9

What do you think?

Thanks,

James

The hdtv and cables are going to eat most of that 2k up.Plus if you need a sat hdtv rec.,that's another $500-$600.Then you need a/v reciever, speakers, speaker wire.I would decide what you need first, then decide the order you need the rest of the equipment.Don't make the mistake I made of buying basic bare bones stuff then upgrading and taking a lost on origanial equipment.Hope this helps.Take your time and enjoy testing different set-ups.

Yeah, money. How's about backing up and maybe we can start to narrow this down a bit.
Room Size?
Furniture layout?
5.1 or something else?
Speakers...bookshelf types? In-wall or in-ceiling?
Your place or you renting?
