In this thread: http://www.hometheaterforum.com/uub/...ML/006416.html
someone posted a list of titles for trade. He also had an eBay auction with the same titles running at the same time and linked to the auction.
However, the Software For Sale/Trade forum rules state "No Auctions!" I'm guessing that refers only to the fact that if you offer a title for sale, then it has to have a posted price. The admins are very strict about this rule (and rightfully so, in my opinion.)
But I don't understand how a person could be able to link to eBay auctions. In fact, I would think that this is an even worse practice than offering titles here and not posting a set price. Does this mean that any time I put something home theater-related up on eBay, I can start a new thread in that forum?
If an admin could clarify the rules, I would appreciate it.

Nobody should be promoting their auctions here, period.
This particular incident has gone through and there is little we can do about it now. Basically, it slipped through the net. Had someone alerted one of us earlier the thread would have been pulled.
The NO AUCTIONS rule in the For Sale areas is very clear.
