I just bought the new PS2 remote released by Sony for use with the PS2. By far the best available for the PS2, most of the third-party remotes don't function very well (from reviews I've read).
Anyways, the pleasant surprise was that my existing remote for my Sony S530 also works (flawlessly) with the PS2! I thought I was going to have another remote to "sling", but not so. The remote came with updated DVD drivers (that must be saved to a PS2 memory card, not flashed) which I believe allow for the compatibility with other Sony remotes. Oh, the PS2 remote works with the S530 too, but there's no volume controls so it's not ideal as a primary remote.
