PAL is not a problem, you will still need to hack your DVD-ROM to remove region coding and use something like DVDGenie to fix the one in Windows

There is a program I use called DVD Region Free (http://www.dvdidle.com/) which allows you to play other regions discs on a region locked drive.

If you don't want to mess with the firmware, buy a second DVD-drive (one locked for region 1, one, say, region 2). What do these things in the US at the moment? $30? Less than 3 DVDs!

I have absolutely terrible experience with DVD Region Free, MUCH MUCH better using my 5 year old Toshiba, if one looks around, for a region free old drive (pre year 2000), $20 should do it.

I've been running it on Windows 2000 and XP using either PowerDVD or WinDVD without a single hitch for ages now... each to their own [IMG]
