I just popped in my first DVD-A disc into the panny and am having trouble getting true 5.1 playback. Everything seems fine with the DVD player: it's says it outputting in 'PPCM 96k24b 6ch' and the track list is up on my screen. When I play a surround track I can't seem to get 5.1. The Denon is in auto mode and I when I flip around with the audio settings I can only seem to get it into Dolbly PLII. I've flipped through both manuals and haven't stumbled on a simple solution. I'm not sure what to expect the receiver to display considering this is not a Dolby or DTS signal, but it is receiving a 5.1 signal (right?) so why PLII only?

I'm not sure if this thread will benefit from the receiver forum but I thought would start here.

    ...confused :b

...a little bit more searching yielded this from a similar thread on the HK 325:

I'm currently only hooked up through the coax. I guess that's it eh?

You need to choose the Ext. In and make sure you have 6 analog cables hooked up from the output of the DVD player to the input of the receiver,
