Playing Dolby Digital DVD's with a ProLogic Rec? (1 Viewer)

What happens when you play DVD's that only have Dolby Digital track on an older ProLogic Receiver? Does it work?

It works fine. The DVD player takes the 5.1 track and constructs a Prologic compatible stereo signal that gest sent through the L/R analog audio output. If there is a stereo track on the DVD you'll want to select that as it will sound better than a 5.1 composite.

And this is exactly what the PCM setting for digital output does.
