I've got ViewSonic HTPC and I am shopping for flat screen. I can not decide between:
    1. Sony KDE-50XS955 50" Plasma
    2. Sharp LC-45GD4U 45" LCD

They cost almost the same but Sony has bigger screen with resolution of 1366 x 768, while LCD has no burn-in. Sharp has higher native resolution of 1920 x 1080.

My usage is TV, DVR, DVD and music.

Would one or the other work better with HTPC?

egad, 1080p just sounds too good to pass up. :b The Sharp has a DVI input while the Sony doesn't, and just about all PC graphics cards sport DVI.

For 8g's though.. have you thought about a projector?
