how much are you looking to spend on a video card? Also, what kind of fan are you going to get? I have a VANTEC CCK-6027D (although that may be overkill for your purposes [rated 1.1gHz and above]). I would advise to STAY AWAY from GeForce MX models.. they are ALOT slower than their Ti counterparts. The GeForce GTS would be a great card for you. :D

EDIT: Okay, after discussing with my bro (he said he'll chip in some), i've decided to upgrade to a Thunderbird 1333 CPU for $26 more.
Hmm, i hadn't thought about a real good fan, coz i dont really plan on overclocking.
Yeah, im gonna see if i can get a GeforceGTS... It soundslike a great card... its cheap online, so i guess ill just order the GTS on ebay since i doubt i can find it here for under $100 canadian.
Have you guys heard of VisionTek? They got a bunch of Visiontek Geforce2 GTS cards going for $50 USD. Thats cheaper than anything locally :) I just hope the guy selling it will still be selling it when i build my system (end of june)

I have a VisionTek GeForce3 Ti200 card... works great! :D
I believe that they are now the #1 maker of nVidia video cards (but don't quote me on that)
Having a fan/heatsink isn't a matter of overclocking (which I don't do anyways), it is a matter of your chip going to 700 degrees C in 2 seconds, destroying the chip and motherboard (and even catching on fire) in the process (see Tom's hardware for the video) You need some sort of protection (I am assuming you are buying the chip alone which doesn't come with an OEM fan). In the case of the chip that you are getting now... the Vantec fan I mentioned in the last post and some Arctic Silver compound are a perfect match :D

NickSo,
Instead of recommendations, here are some more links that you can use to help sort out what will work for you inside your budget (after the finals are over).
To check prices:
http://www.pricewatch.com
http://www.ibuyer.net
http://www.pricegrabber.com
To check out vendor ratings:
http://www.resellerratings.com
To find reviews:
http://www.reviewbooth.com
Well I guess I will make some recommendations after all.
1. If you're going to get the Athlon Thunderbird (200MHz FSB), then PC133 RAM will be fine if it is cheaper. The DDR RAM really only gives you benefits when you're using the Athlon Palomino or XP with their 266MHz FSB. 256MB of RAM should be the minimum, 512MB would be excellent.
2. There is a good chance that AMD will drop prices again soon since Intel will have price drops next week. And AMD will introduce new cpu next month which should push older chip prices down some also.
3. Check out the reviews on the ATi Radeon 7500 you mentioned as a possibility, would be a very good choice. Reviews have given it a high rating.
;)
