I always hated how the cover for the original Planet of the Apes as well as the cover for the whole six disc “Evolution” set gives away the ending of the first movie. While I admit, it is a striking image and most people know the end of the movie, it has always really irked me.

So here is my slightly reworked cover designed to fit around a six disc Alpha case…

Nice effort Ric. [IMG] Personally I'd prefer a cover that was not a noggin cover.

Of course, the ending is given away on the DVD menu. Spoilers aplenty on that thing. Good cover though, although Dr. Zaius should be there instead of that gorilla.

Even though the good Doctor was in the first two movies, I just felt that one of those war mongering gorrilas was more threatening. And yes, there's no way of getting around that DVD menu!

As for no floating heads at all... I'm not sure how to approach a cover like this without monkey faces! I'd be willing to entertain ideas though.

Jeff, I thought about trying to do something with Apes on horses, but two good shots were already being used for the TV series...

And even though I really love the one with the 3 apes, I wanted to get as far away from the TV show as possible.

So, instead I assault your senses with THE ULTIMATE FLOATING APE HEAD! This one is of planetary proportions.

Are Fox still gonna put out a 2-disc of the original 1968 movie?

Hmmm, hadn't heard of that one. PotA looks pretty good. I wish the others got the animorphic treatment. I used to care less bout those things... That was of course, until I got my widescreen tv!
