I have the vienna accoustic mozarts which sound awesome about 3 1/2 feet away from the wall but I moved and now have them up against the wall. They don't sound nearly as good! Of course the sound stage is not as deep as before but also vocals just sound flatter and raspier. Does any one have any tips like how many inches away from the wall I should place them or less toe in or something? Help!

The wall usually adds more bass reinforcement to the sound that could be making them sound flatter.

Some companies post their recommendations for placement and I've heard a few state 12 inches or more.

You could also put some acoustic paneling behind the speakers at the "Mirror" location to the listening position. This could help your depth and perhaps reduce the distance needed between the wall and speaker.

Toe-in might help the imaging/presentation to sound more forward but won't fix the bass that gets added.
