I have an Pro-logic only Onkyo TX-SV646. It has MULTI-CHANNEL INPUTS for all channels. I was wondering can I use the Onkyo as an amp & Pioneer VSX-D811S as a EXTERNAL DECODER?

P.S Sorry but,you may see this all over the web.

Sure can...should be no problem at all.

Thing is...if all you want is a decoder...I'm sure you can find a cheaper one...say the old Technics DD/DTS decoder.

Thanks. I like to listen to music in surround sound & not 2 channel Stereo. I wanted Dolby Digital 5.1-channel,Dolby Pro Logic II & DTS.
I always wanted to buy a decoder for my Pro Logic Onkyo TX-SV646 or my Yamaha R-V905 that has Dolby Digital Processing, but no DTS or Dolby Pro Logic II.
    Thanks again.
