Pioneer has a good reputation for their budget receivers and will probably sound fine for the price your paying for. If you can though, try to spend a little more and get at least a d712k. It's only $35 more @ etronic.com, but has supports 6.1 formats and way more connections on the back. But be sure you go have a listen to it. I found the lower end pioneers be weak sounding. It only took me a few months to find out I got too cheap of a receiver and needed something better. This is assuming the new receiver is going to be used in your main system.
