Pioneer offers 500GB Disc.. whoa

    This doesn't really fit anywhere else, not hardware, not quite Software related..

    Pioneer outdoes Blueray with thier optical media that stores 500GB in a standard size disc using ultra-violet recording/reading technologies. Roughly 10 times the space of BlueRay.

    well, what did you think, the industry would make it easy? With 500GB of space, you should be able to get a full 1080p of a film, multiple soundtracks, an uncompressed multichannel soundtrack, etc.

    Or, you could just get a ton of data for those who would use it as archival.

    These huge optical storage articles appear every month, but this time from a big name like Pioneer. I'm interested but I'm not holding my breath.
