The VSX-55TXi is one of 3 receivers that I am considering (also Yamaha RX-V2400 and HK AVR630). It was released nearly a year ago... I am concerned that if I buy it, Pioneer will release it's replacement very soon & I will have feature envy! Does anyone know the typical lifecycle of this class of receiver? Anyone have insight on when Pioneer may be making a switch?

Usually the Elites come out after the Entry level replacments.
Since the Entry level replacments were just released Maybe Aug/sept this year.
I really don't see any big changes to the Higher end elite models. Maybe PLIIx. But this is only usefull if you have a 7.1 setup.
If you can get it for a good price I would go for it as the changes that have been happening have been minor lately.

I was ready to buy the 55TXi, it had every feature I wanted except component video up conversion. Would be nice if it had 3 component in's too. Hopefully the new model will have both. The prices for the 55TXi are really good right now though. If you don't care about component video up conversion I would get the 55.
