I have a Pioneer Elite Pro-530HD and the red color went out. It was intermittent at first, you could bump or jiggle the TV and it would come back on and then it went completely out. I took the front panels off and it looked to me like the gun was working -- again, this is what i could only tell by looking up inside, nothing more technical than that. I jiggled wires, bumped/tapped around a little to see if i could trigger it but could not.
Any advice on what the fix may be?
Thanks for the help!

You should only attempt this is you are familiar with electronic circuits. There are lethal voltages present inside the chassis and some of the capacitors may hold their charge for hours.

Since you were able to "bump" it back into operation before it could be a loose connection. If you're comfortable working inside the chassis you could try unplugging the internal connectors and then re-seating them. Make sure that you unplug the TV from the main power a couple of hours before you do this, so the capacitors have time to discharge.

Hi
If your TV is connected via Component Cables, maybe one of the cables is loose or disconnected.
I had that problem recently for I had interchanged the blue and the green wires at one end.

thanks for the help, looks like a cable problem even though it was doing the same thing DVD or my HD Sat Tuner. Thank you for your replies I really really appreciate the nudge to keep messing with it!
