I am thinking of purchasing the DV-47ai and the 49TXi receiver.

Does the receiver come w/ the "i-link" cable? Do I need to buy a regular digital coax cable?

Also, when listening to standard CDs I assume the MCACC calbiration will work w/ the signal. Am I correct?

If I were to buy another brand DVD player and use the coax digital out I assume I would still be able to use the MCACC function.

    Help greatly appreciated!

    Regards,

    Brian Smith

    Brian- I think I can answer 3 of 4...
I-link cable with either the receiver or player? Not the player (I have one, and not there.)
Would you need to buy a regular coax cable: probably not. *If* std DD/DTS signals can also be sent via the I-link cable.
CDs and MCACC: I would hope so! [IMG]
Different brand DVD player and MCACC: yes.

Brian, the i-Link cable does come with the 47Ai and that's the only cable you need when paired with the 49TXi. You do not need an optical/coax cable. I-Link passes everything except video.

MCACC works with all audio inputs.

Sound & Vision did a review of the Pioneer combo in the February/March issue. It starts on page 69.

    Thanks guys!

Unfortunately I placed an order for a $100 digital cable first!

I live in a town that doesn't carry S&V. Argh. Don't suppose someone would fax it to me? ;-)

I'll see if I can order it directly.

Brian- Sorry about. :b The 47ai does come with the i-link cable. I just didn't remember it. Well, the cable you get with the player can't be worth much more than $10 or $15, so if you really did spend $100, probably a lot higher quality anyway...

Actually, the $100 cable won't work because it is not an i-link cable. I assume the i-link connection does not use an RCA cable.

Brian, return that cable and get your money back! The i-Link cable that comes with the 47Ai works just fine and there is no reason to replace it, unless you need a longer length.
