Does anyone know how I can region mod this player? I can't find any help on the web, and I really don't want to buy a cheap, crappy player for non-US discs.
    Thanks

You'll need a mod chip, and someone to install it. Total cost (which probably includes shipping your deck to Europe) will be $200 or so including labor.

I suggest you buy a Malata

Why Europe? Is there any place in the US that will do it, or could I just buy a chip and do it myself? I'm very competent with a soldering iron.

Pick up a Toshiba 3900. Slip in any Region disc, hit Top Menu, 1, Play and it will start. Clear the warning message by pressing Marker, Clear.

Vyola, as the French almost say. Costs under $100. Great little machine.

Ive used these guys in the UK and they used to mod US players too (DV-47AI is pretty much a DV-757AI). They may also be able to sort out PAL Progressive scan for you too (If thats important).

As far as I know multiregion for that player can be done with a hacked firmware as the DV-757AI can be.
