That's right the i in 55TXi does mean i.Link while the 53TX doesn't have it. Among that the 55TXi and 53TX also seems to have a 9-band equalizer for Automatic MCACC. They still use dual Motorola DSP same as the 45 and 43 so this brings up the idea of maybe an upgrade at least for the 45TX owners.

How many of you 45TX owners would upgrade your receiver for say 3-500 dollars if offered?

Or how many of you would sell your 45TX for about $750 (avg eBay price) and then buy a 55TXi for about $1000 online? Or see if yourdealer will let you trade-ion your 45 for a 55? Either of these two wil get you a 55 for a few hundred more.

The prices have gone up though the 55TXi is $1,700 and the 53TX is $1,500. Both will be avail in July.

I was just about to order a 45TX. I'm glad I waited. Of course, now I have to decide between a much cheaper 45TX and the 9-band equalizier of the 55TX. I'm curious to see what they go for online once they are actually released.

Awesome news, glad I didn't have the cash to buy a 45TX before. Not sure the iLink is worth an extra $200 though...

The 55TXi SRP will be around 1700$ but the equivalent VSX-2012 will be at 1200$. Am I missing something here???

This is the same link at Pioneer Electronics from the 25th of june but for the 'European' numbers !

How many bands of EQ does the VSX-2012 provide for the MCACC?

The VSX-2012 doesn't EQ the room it just sets speaker distance and speaker levels just like H/K's Ez-Set. It doesn't have the dual motorola chips and it also doesn't have i.Link hence why it is $1200 and the 55TXi is $1700. Either i.Link is expensive to implement or they are trying to recover their capital investment ASAP. VSX-2012 appears to be like an upgraded vsx-41 now with THX certification.

Weird! I thought that from the model names, the 53 and 55 would be the new flagship receivers. But no...seems the 49txi is still the king.

Just found my new receiver! the 55txi is where it's at! pretty good price for what you are getting. Then my trusty vsx-d810 will be dedicated to the bedroom!

I don't know why but I have this feeling that sometime in the not too distant future pioneer will be coming out with a 59txi or something like it to replace the 49txi.

DocDVD a very very reliable source says that he will be shipping the 53 and 55 at the end of this month.
