I believe the 656a is a higher end player than the 563a. I'm going to see if I can do a side-by side comparision this weekend.

I've currently got the 656, but will be trying out the 563 this weekend. I had someone try one of my DVDRs in his 563 and he said it didn't work, but he also said it wouldn't play CDRs so I'm beginning to think he may have a faulty unit. I should know for certain this weekend.

if you have the 656 which is according to you higher end why would you be interested in the 563?

I didn't say for certain the 656 is higher end , I said "I believe" it to be higher end. There's a difference. I won't know until I have the 563 in my hands.
