How long has the 343 been in stores and is it being replaced anytime soon? The reviews sounded good on this model and had it narrowed down to the pioneer 343 and the toshiba sd-1750. For the same price which player would you choose? I believe they are pretty much the same except the 343 does cd-r ,any other differences worth mentioning? thx

Shane, check out Pioneer's new 440 on the Crutchfield
site. It looks like a really sweet player and I think
it's about the same price as the 343. Good luck.

Pioneer has already replaced the 343 with a 341 model. They dropped the optical output and changed the face slightly. They may have removed the CD-R, CD-RW, and VCD features as well, but I dont know yet. I suspect they have begun dropping features in an attempt to price it sub $150 around Christmas time.
