Does anyone know where I could find a review of this model, or can you tell me what the A/V quality is? Thanks.

Chris, it's a really old budjet model from about 1990. It's a single-side player with no extras. It's video quality, if it stille worked perfectly, would be about 47-48 db video S/N. The format looks much better with the players that do 50 db or better. I'd look at newer players. Look for players like the CLD's 504, 505, 604, 704. Even the single side CLD-S104 from 1995 would smoke that ancient 1090 or the better equiped D406 that both do 49 db are newer and better. Hey, if you can get the 1090 from a pawn shop or somethin' for $25 or less, it'd be a toy to play with. IMO, that's about all it's worth these dayz. Best wishes from Laserland![IMG]

Try looking at this site when researching laserdisc players.

I'd skip on the CLD-1090 and go with Rachael's recommendation on the CLD-S104. You should be able to find one under $50 on ebay.

The CLD-S201 was the replacement model for the 1090, and it had a lot of important upgrades. The S104 was mostly a cosmetic makeover of the S201, either would be a significant improvement over the ancient 1090.
