Pioneer 45, Denon 3803, Sony 4ES do any of

    these units allow you to have separte settings for different inputs. I mean, can you have one setting for the dvd, one for satellite, one for the vcr?

    I don't want to overstate what the denon 3803 can save for each setting so I will only say it keeps the sound field you've choosen for each source AND for each signal for that source in memory. It amazed me that when I was listening to music on my DVD player it played in DPL 2 music, while getting a DD signal it plays DD, and while getting a DTS signal it plays DTS. If I go to TV it plays the source in DPL 2 cinema unless I hit a HD channel sending a DD signal and then it switches to that. Go back to a cd in my DVD player...dpl 2 music.
