My neighbor has a Pioneer 16:9 set (I think it's the 53"). Anyway, he's having some trouble. I think he watches all widescreen movies in Full mode and he's getting some vertically squished images when he's watching a non-anamorphic disc. I know nothing about the modes on a 16:9 set, and he said the manual really doesn't do a very good job of explaining the different modes. What mode should he use when watching non-anamorphic discs?
    Your help is appreciated. [IMG]

    Brett,
Advise your friend to use the "Cinema Wide" mode on the Pioneer set to watch letterboxed, non-anamorphic movies. Anamorphic titles should be watched in "Full" mode.

On my Elite 510 (53"), Cinema Wide still provides a slight amount of horizontal stretching- like Natural Wide, only less.
I watch all non-anamorphic titles in Zoom. This stretches the 4x3 image vertically, with no horizontal manipulation.
