Costco has these in my area for $2795. Is this a good price, and are there any disadvantages to this set? Can't really compare it with any others.......... Mike
I paid $3700 (with tax, delivery) for mine last January.
I love the set, have not complaints. If you click on the "View my Theater" link in my sig you can see some pics of the setup, along with electrical focus and screen-restacking instructions.
Sorry I didn't get back to you, Jeff. Your setup looks great; what a difference to remove the glare screen. Have you had the ISF cal. yet? I thought that price was quite exceptional; how does it do on normal NTSC programming? Any problems yet? Thanks, Mike
I havent had it ISF'ed yet. Probably will not get that done this year.
The set has performed flawlessly since day 1, no issues to report.
NTSC looks fine to me. Most of the time DirectTV looks OK, although the local stations can look very poor at times. I usually use my HDTV tuner for all my local channels anyway, that looks much better than direct TV.
My next upgrade will be a progressive scan DVD player to release my 5 year old Sony interlaced player.
