A magnificent restoration and gorgeous Steven Wilson Atmos remix. As the review said: "Fifty-three years on it looks utterly magnificent, a glorious record of a group at the height of their powers".

This just came out on BluRay, right?
I have the DVD of it.

I’ll take titch’s word for it that it’s a nice video. I thought the BluRay of the Pulse concert was a huge disappointment.

I haven't got the P.U.L.S.E. blu-ray but I believe that concert was filmed on videotape, which would definitely limit the video definition. The Pink Floyd at Pompeii - MCMLXXII movie was restored from the original 35 mm negatives and looks very good projected. The outside concert footage looks sharper than the indoor footage, but there is a nice layer of fine grain over the whole picture. It looks filmic. This obviously was not a major studio production but I think it looks way better than the horribly DNR'd picture on the Beatles: Get Back blu-ray.

Did the price of this recently drop digitally? I'd rather get a digital copy as long as it is up to the standards of the physical media release.

Pompeii was filmed on 35mm, Pulse on video (an unforced error). I hope that Gilmour's return to Pompeii in 2017 which is on a superb blu ray receives a 4k release.
I saw that Gilmour BluRay being available on Amazon. Not familiar with this. I’ll likely add it to my collection.

It’s currently $14.99. 4K and Dolby Atmos. Better bargain than the Blu Ray imo.

I’m hesitant on this one because I feel that if I buy the Blu-Ray it will eventually get announced for a UHD release, anyone think they know the odds of that happening

It’s more important for me to have HD audio than 4K at streaming quality, so I had no problem getting the BR. If a 4K disc comes out, I suspect I’ll be just fine with what I have now.

There are only a handful of 4k concert discs so I doubt it will happen, and would probably have been a simultaneous release with the blu ray. I have learnt not to wait!
